Has it happened to you?
Of course everyone starts writing on Medium to make money.
Ayodeji Awosika teaches to write down ten blog post ideas everyday.
Then, I make a list of the things that I should accomplish that day. Any other thoughts that are rattling around in my head also goes into a notebook.
It was a challenge in the beginning to sit down and come up with original blog post ideas. It would take longer than I wanted to spend sitting and thinking. But over the last month, it’s become a daily writing exercise that I look forward to every morning because:

Writing has given me an healthy outlet to express and process my frustrations. Instead of verbally exchanging four letter words with my significant other, I leave the room and pour everything out on whatever writing or drawing instrument that’s available.
And the great thing about it is he’ll never see anything I say about him because he’s not on social media.
Writing has helped me to slow down my thought processes and find moments of stillness and reflection. This allows for a better insight into short and long term goals.
It has also improved my ability to focus and be present in the moment. There’s more clarity on the article or drawing. The ideas may start off abstract but end up being the most brilliant set of words to share with the world.
My stress level have lowered tremendously. When I’m overwhelmed and anxious, I start writing and let the words flow. The act of writing helps to organize my thoughts and find solutions to different challenges that crop up out of nowhere.
It’s never too late to be what you might have been — George Eliot
It also serves as a form of self-care, allowing me to prioritize my mental health and well-being. Writing about plans to follow-up on, short vacation excursions for a change of scenery for a well deserved mental break.
I also discovered the more I write, the more ideas I generate. It’s like opening a floodgate of creatively that keeps flowing.
Writing serves as an emotional release. It provides a safe and private platform to express emotions without judgment.
Feelings on paper can be cathartic , the physical act of writing becomes a therapeutic process that aids in emotional control.
You also become empowered. To know you can put together words for the bigger goal of reaching and teaching someone something new is extremely exciting.
In conclusion, incorporating daily writing exercises into my life has been a complete game-changer. It has transformed writing from a mere hobby into a powerful tool for personal growth and self-expression.
Whether it’s boosting motivation, providing an outlet for frustrations, slowing down my thought process, reducing stress levels, or sparking creativity, writing has become an integral part of my daily life and routine.
Have you found your writing has created other benefits besides all of the money you’re making?
