Failure is not an option.

I showed up for work on this fine Monday morning, ready to begin my workday when I heard something that changed my life.
Before I could turn the computer on, the supervisor announced there was to be a meeting.
“We’re closing this center down in 30 days.” “We no longer need your services.” My eyes started crossing because my ears didn’t want to believe what they were hearing.
30 days to find another job within the company. If not, you’re off payroll. Plain and simple. So out the door I go, retirement eligible.
Four years visiting family, friends, vacationing all of the stuff you’ve always said you wanted to do.
During those years, Covid hit, taking lives, disputing everything in between.
So, now you sit with the idea of becoming a writer. I’ve always wanted to do so, and the extenuating circumstances suggest that I do.
So, what is it going to take to get to that point:
Money in my retirement account need boosting.
I’ve come to the realization that my dreams of sipping margaritas on a tropical beach in my golden years is slightly unrealistic. So, I must succeed in this writing gig to boost my retirement account.
Forget about the uncertainty of the stock market or the allure of real estate investments. My writing will be my golden ticket to financial security. Who need a 401(k) when you can have a best selling novel?
Having multiple sources of income is always a smart move.
Gone are the days when you could rely on a single paycheck to sustain a comfortable lifestyle. The gig economy and content creation is all the rage now and I must jump on the bandwagon.
As a new writer, I need to succeed not just for the fame and fortune, but also to diversify my income sources. Who knows, maybe I’ll even become a social media influencer, selling teeth-whitening kits and detox teas on the side.
The possibilities are endless, and my bank account will thank me for it.
Time is of the essence.
Time is a precious commodity, my dear readers. As a new writer and retiree, I can finally spend time doing things I really love and are interested in.
And as a retiree, I realize the first part of my life is over and I’m on the down side of that trajectory. The windows to my opportunities are decreasing.
But while I’m still breathing and in pretty decent health, I’ll continue to pursue writing. The number of individuals that become famous and/or wealthy in their later years are too numerous to mention. The idea of becoming one of them excites and ignites my soul.

The most important thing of all is my ego has a need to succeed.
Okay, let’s be honest here. We all have egos, and mine is no exception. I have a burning desire to prove myself and show the world what I’m capable of accomplishing. Being a successful writer would not only boost my confidence but also validate my skills and abilities.
I want to be able to say, “Hey, I made it as a writer. I followed my passion and succeeded.” It’s not just about the money or the fame, it’s about fulfilling a personal need and proving to myself most of all that I have what it takes to make it in this industry.
In conclusion, there are several reasons why I need to succeed as a new writer. Writing will offer me a chance to create a successful career on my own terms.
It allows me to boost my retirement savings and have multiple sources of income. And to make the most of my time. We can’t forget the ego boost that comes with achieving success as a writer. So, here’s to taking the leap and making my dreams a reality.
And you can certainly do the same. How often have you heard someone say they’re too to learn something new? The only time you’ll be too old is when you’re no longer aware of your existence.
Begin to seek out new ways to increase your income and stay active. Don’t feel as if after retirement you don’t have many options. You want your body and mind to remain active.
And if you’re able to carve out a new career path, that makes it all worth the effort.
